As seen in ELLE France, Family Circle, and Design*Sponge! Spring/Summer Marketing and Operations Intern, Small Stipend (ASAP with possbility to extend in Fall)

Responsibilities
• Design publications, including bi-monthly newsletters, catalog updates, and press kit
• Research retail and wholesale opportunities
• Conduct press outreach and follow-up
• Order textile and product samples; source textiles and supplies from local businesses
• Ship web orders (if based in NY)

• List new items on website
• Manage inventory of merchandise and supplies
• Should be able to contribute fresh ideas to social media, branding, and audience engagement strategies.

Qualifications
• Strong organization and communication skills
• Knowledge of designer & the collection is required
• Experience working in a small, independent store strongly preferred
• Familiarity with independent designers and makers strongly preferred
• Ideally proficient in Adobe Suite (Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign)
• Available 15-20 hours per week to start, and some weekends
• Does not need to be based in NYC

Additional Information
• The intern will learn industry standards throughout the duration of the internship. These include, but are not limited to manufacturing and production, wholesale negotiations, and branding.
• The intern will gain a behind-the-scenes look at the daily operations of an independent business.
• The intern will have access to the world's top textile and home decor brands, retailers, and press during the exclusive showrooms and tradeshows at Javits Center in NYC, including NYNOW and Renegade Craft Fair in Greenpoint, BK. These tradeshows are not open to the general public.
• This internship offers a small stipend and the student should receive university coursework.
